7 Profile of The Programme In parallel with the increase in life expectancy in our country and the world, societies are getting older. Both aging and the increase in traffic and industrial accidents increase the need for physical therapy and rehabilitation services. As it is known, rehabilitation services are carried out by a large team under the coordination and supervision of a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist. As part of this team, a Physiotherapy Technician is defined as a health technician who has graduated from a physiotherapy program of a vocational school and assists in physical therapy and exercise applications under the supervision of a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist or a physiotherapist. In our country, the small number of physiotherapists, who are one of the most important elements of this team, causes problems in providing adequate and quality service. While many patients cannot receive service, many receive low-quality service due to insufficient time. In particular, assisted and supervised exercises that require a lot of repetition, hydrotherapy and in-water exercises can be given little time or not at all. The Physiotherapy Technician Program of the Health Services Vocational School aims to train auxiliary health personnel whose shortage is felt intensely in Physical Therapy Rehabilitation clinics, special branch centers and especially SPA/thermal facilities. In this way, the main goal of the program is to train health technicians whose shortage is felt in the field of physical therapy application. In the Physiotherapy Program;Ataturk's Principles and Revolution History,Turkish Language,Foreign Language,Anatomy,Physiology,Medical Terminology,Pharmacology,First Aid,Health Law,Infectious Diseases and Control,Hydrotherapy and Balneotherapy,Physical Therapy Applications and Principles,Introduction to Physiotherapy and Ethics,Basic Measurement Methods,Communication in Health,Occupational Health and Safety,Future Technologies in Health,Career Planning,Basic Disaster Awareness,Massage,Clinical Sciences,Special Treatment Movements and Applications,Orthosis, Prosthesis and Assistive Devices,Physiotherapy Approaches in Neurological Diseases,Physiotherapy Approaches in Orthopedic Diseases,Physiotherapy Approaches in Rheumatic Diseases,Health In their services, courses such as Quality, Accreditation and Patient Safety are given. In addition to courses and intra-year practices, students are required to do a 6-week summer internship in the relevant departments of hospitals.
